What is an AdBlue(SCR) emulator?
The AdBlue emulator is a device that simulates a fully functional SCR system (AdBlue/DEF dosing). As a result, the ECU driver does not limit power or torque and does not report faults caused by exhaust emissions. The emulator "replaces" all sensors associated with the SCR system - ie NOx sensors and temperature. The emulator also generates signals such as the AdBlue pump, so that the vehicle "sees" all system components including even the level of urea solution in the tank.
Using an SCR emulator is commonly referred to as "disabling AdBlue" or "removing AdBlue".
